Why are Becky’s check, Cortezs’ neck, Becky’s chin, Cortez’s microphone, Obama’s upper lip, Obama’s check, Obama’s lip again, Hill’s nostril, Becky’s chin again, Cortez’s lower lip, Don’s side chin, and Don’s lower upper right lip, talking? also needs more gratuitous violence. other than that good job. *thumbs up emoji*

Is Hill talking out her nostril or is she snorting up some fake news?

In the universe where I prefer photo realism over a surreal pastiche.

My favourite part about Becky’s right ear is that it’s like some kind of weird scarred hanging chad of cartilage.

  3. Count Potato on March 5, 2017 at 4:27 pm

Oh, I just posted this in the other thread.

I just put on Fox to watch the GG show. And it isn’t on. Sad.

Anyway, according to them Trump got the information from a Breitbart article based on “unnamed sources”. Then sent those tweets on Saturday morning. There was no mention whether the President was taking a shit at the same time.

So what seems weird to me. Well, except Trump’s impulsiveness. Is that even at this time, no one from the White House can say anything for sure. Don’t they have the authority to get FISA court records, even over the weekend?

    • Count Potato on March 5, 2017 at 4:42 pm

This is weird, the Guardian published this on 11 January 2017:

“The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation. ”

      https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/10/fbi-chief-given-dossier-by-john-mccain-alleging-secret-trump-russia-contacts

So why didn’t Trump find out about this earlier?

      • PapayaSF on March 5, 2017 at 5:50 pm

Maybe Trump was waiting for the right time. Despite the claim that he is merely impulsive, there’s plenty of evidence that he thinks ahead, sometimes several steps ahead of his opponents.

    • Count Potato on March 5, 2017 at 4:47 pm

This was back on 7 November:

“Two separate sources with links to the counter-intelligence community have confirmed to Heat Street that the FBI sought, and was granted, a FISA court warrant in October, giving counter-intelligence permission to examine the activities of ‘U.S. persons’ in Donald Trump’s campaign with ties to Russia.”

  4. Suthenboy on March 5, 2017 at 4:48 pm

I am not sure why people seem to be shocked or in disbelief about Obumbles engaging in tin-pot dictator tactics. The surprise to me would be if he didn’t. Why is this just coming out now?

    • Count Potato on March 5, 2017 at 4:56 pm

I would just assume that Feds would be listening whenever anyone in the U.S. was speaking with anyone working for the Russian government. So I classify this under, “duh”:

      http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/02/15/exclusive-nsa-whistleblower-agency-absolutely-tapping-trumps-calls/

So the only real issue is if they were specifically targeting the Trump campaign and passing that information around, as opposed to grabbing it in their regular overreaching mass surveillance and keeping it to themselves.

    • Brochettaward on March 5, 2017 at 5:05 pm

It’s not so much just coming out now as it is being made a big deal of now because Trump latched onto it in his predawn Twitter counterattack. The details of at least warrants were reported on much earlier.

The media creates the narrative, and while someone around these parts suggested there is no establishment and competition breeds a diversity of viewpoints, much of the alternative media is in fact just in response to the bullshit the usual suspects are spouting. The NYT’s, Washington Post, CNN, and network news.

And it’s not about anyone being genuinely surprised. There’s nothing honest about any of this. It’s just typical water-carrying for Democrats.

  5. Rufus the Monocled on March 5, 2017 at 4:53 pm

    Obama is trouble.

    • Gilmore on March 5, 2017 at 5:54 pm

there is a long tradition that presidents, in the wake of their own presidency, back the hell out of domestic politics and leave their replacement mostly alone.

some, like carter or clinton, go into ‘international philanthropy’ or the World Bank type stuff, which doesn’t really count. the point is that they leave domestic politics to their party. they might agitate on behalf of the party, but what they don’t do is continue to pretend that they still get to wield the “president” mantle in the press.

It was one thing for Obama to issue the occasional statement of “feels” on behalf of protestors and whatnot. It was to be expected.

but this whole recent “IM BACK” shit, 3 months into Trump’s presidency? Is beyond ‘unusual’. Its basically trying to cling to the prestige of the office.

I think its basically a continuation of the attempt to discredit the current admin. and i would not be surprised if Trump retaliates by dumping LOADS of dirt from his administration out into the public. As i said elsewhere, once the gloves come off (e.g. what the ‘deep state’ was doing, leaking stuff to destroy current nominees, etc.), suddenly everything becomes fair play.

      “Obama is trouble” indeed.

Its a terrible trend. When political leaders start dropping all the self-imposed limits on how they use govt powers against political opponents…. it basically erodes institutions like cancer.

      • The Fusionist on March 5, 2017 at 6:13 pm

“there is a long tradition that presidents, in the wake of their own presidency, back the hell out of domestic politics and leave their replacement mostly alone.”

There’s Teddy Roosevelt and Taft, there’s…well, there’s Teddy Roosevent and Taft.

        • Ted S. on March 5, 2017 at 6:27 pm

          You forgot Grover Cleveland.

          • The Fusionist on March 5, 2017 at 6:34 pm

            There we go.

And of course JQ Adams came back to the House (as an anti-Mason, though that particular detail seems to have been left out of that otherwise-fine movie Amistad).

And Andy Johnson went back to the Senate while his successor was still in office, though Johnson didn’t last very long, dying after a few months.

          • Ted S. on March 5, 2017 at 6:38 pm

John Tyler was elected to the Senate too, wasn’t he?

          • The Fusionist on March 5, 2017 at 6:41 pm

I don’t think so, but he went to a North/South Peace Conference in 1861. Spoiler alert…it didn’t work.

          • The Fusionist on March 5, 2017 at 6:53 pm

I think he was in the Senate *before* being Pres.

          There’s forests, and there’s trees.

      • Ted S. on March 5, 2017 at 6:24 pm

The one thing that bugs me is that when these links came out, Trump could easily have made reference to J. Edgar Hoover keeping files on his political enemies, since that’s something that historically, everybody accepted is a bad thing. But instead he talked about Nazis? Communists?

        • Gilmore on March 5, 2017 at 7:24 pm

But instead he talked about Nazis? Communists?

I’m not a regular reader of Trump tweets, so i don’t know what you’re referring to…

..but my impression is that Trump is being very smart with the way he’s pushing back on Obama admin Gestapo-tactics, by using the exact same language his attackers use against him.

Its like a running theme he’s had = to enact many of the same policies and actions of the Obama admin, and when criticized, point back to the former and say, “But he did it too”; forcing the press to note that Obama deported millions, that he halted the refugee program, that he dumped lots of military gear on cops, and on and on and on.

If Trump starts comparing Obama admin actions to other totalitarian regimes…

….the effect it has is to force the press to go, “BUT THAT’S RIDICULOUS”… which is an extremely odd thing for the press to say, given that papers like WaPo have made comparisons between Trump and Hitler nearly every single day for the past year+

Basically, it forces them to de-value the same rhetorical weapons they’re constantly using against him.

          • Mainer on March 6, 2017 at 12:01 pm

Trump is using their playbook, instead of reacting like he is “supposed to” He apparently has no illusions who his political enemies are, and knows that being defensive is for losers. They make accusations so you make accusations. Put them on the back foot. And the odds are pretty good that he and/or his people were being wire tapped. Now all his enemies are gonna be on record that the wiretapping accusation is just absurd, crazy, “that never happened”. How soon before they have to admit, well yeah, we may have wiretapped you a little.

      • westernsloper on March 5, 2017 at 7:19 pm

Its a terrible trend. When political leaders start dropping all the self-imposed limits on how they use govt powers against political opponents

Agreed. Other than the few examples the encyclopedia brains point out there, past presidents recognized it is best to go away. The fact most have had that self-imposed limit on themselves is kind of amazing.

    • Not an Economist on March 5, 2017 at 7:46 pm

I was just thinking that it is possible the biggest scandal of the Trump administration might be the Obama administration.

OT: I wonder about all these leftists *fighting Nazis* and all that.

Nazis killed Jews. But I bet most of them are anti-Israel and Pro-free Palestine.

    Ironic to me.

    • Suthenboy on March 5, 2017 at 5:53 pm

That is the tip of the iceberg. They are indistinguishable in stance, rhetoric and behavior from the radical leftist agitators of the past. Fascist or commmie, take your pick; they are a weird mixture of both. The democrat party leadership is behind this and that party has been co-opted by radical leftists.

    • DEG on March 5, 2017 at 6:52 pm

Nazis killed Jews. But I bet most of them are anti-Israel and Pro-free Palestine.

I doubt any of them put that much thought into things. They only care about achieving their goals.

‘feminism is about giving women choice’
